THEY SAID IT: "I have whacked some phones harder than that - it just fell apart." - St Kilda coach Ross Lyon after twice damaging an Adelaide Oval phone during his team's 32-point loss to the Crows.

PLAYER OF THE ROUND: In his 200th game, Carlton captain Patrick Cripps put the Blues on his back in the last quarter and did everything he could to engineer a comeback win. But Jamarra Ugle-Hagan played his best game this season and kicked four goals, as did Rhylee West.
THE MOMENT: With Hawthorn trailing Fremantle by 15 points late in the third term, Hawks coach Sam Mitchell made the inspired decision to send captain James Sicily into attack. The key defender was a passenger up until that point, clearly protecting his recently-dislocated shoulder. But he thrived when sent into attack, kicking a goal late in the third term and two more in the last to help Hawthorn snatch victory.
TALKING POINT: Are Collingwood in real danger of missing the finals? The reigning premiers are outside the top eight, struggling for form and decimated by injuries. Coach Craig McRae has made it clear - with six games to go "time's running out" for Collingwood.
STATS THAT MATTER: Melbourne's win over Essendon marked the first time in more than nine years they've lined up without Max Gawn and Christian Petracca. It ended a 211-game streak with at least one of the star pair in the team. The Demons stood up without them, producing a stirring victory in wet conditions.
STATS THAT MATTER PART 2: The crowd of 19,040 for the Richmond v GWS match on Sunday was the lowest for a Tigers game at the MCG - outside of pandemic restrictions - since 2004.
TRIBUNAL WATCH: Gold Coast's Malcolm Rosas is set to be in trouble for an off-the-ball elbow to an opponent's head. His teammate Alex Davies also faces a nervous wait after his high contact concussed Lachie Jones. GWS tagger Toby Bedford faces scrutiny for a tackle on Tim Taranto that resulted in the Richmond midfielder hitting his head on the turf. Brisbane star Charlie Cameron could be in big strife for his driving tackle that heavily concussed West Coast co-captain Liam Duggan.
INJURIES: M D'Ambrosio (Haw, ankle), J Battle (SK, leg), A Treloar (WB, calf), Z Williams (Carl, hamstring), J McInerney (Syd, knee), N Daicos (Coll, corked hamstring), L Schultz (Coll, concussion), T Stewart (Geel, head), S Neale (Geel, bruised larynx), T Marshall (Port, hip), Lachie Jones (Port, neck/concussion), L Duggan (WC, concussion)
WHAT'S NEXT: Essendon and Adelaide kick off round 19 with a Friday night clash at Marvel Stadium. GWS and Gold Coast face off in an important match on Saturday, but all eyes will be on Hawthorn's blockbuster against Collingwood at the MCG later in the day. Geelong host the Bulldogs at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday night. Sunday's action sees Brisbane host Sydney, Fremantle taking on Melbourne in Perth and Carlton up against North Melbourne.
