Fire crews were called to a Donvale home, about 20km east of Melbourne, early on Saturday morning.
Firefighters arrived to find the multi-level, brick and steel-constructed home fully engulfed in flames.
The blaze was brought under control within 45 minutes but the home was destroyed, with the roof collapsing.
Two bodies, which are yet to be formally identified, were later found inside the property.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed the fire has been deemed non-suspicious.
