Workers at an international airport faced a bizarre situation last week when a broken cooler box left dozens of live eels wriggling on the tarmac.

The half-metre slippery sea creatures can be seen falling off a conveyor belt at Vancouver International Airport in a video posted to social media.
The loose eels were left slithering on the airstrip on July 7 while apprehensive airport staff watched on.
The airport confirmed the shipment was on board an Air Canada Cargo plane that had flown from Toronto to Vancouver in Canada.
Air Canada Cargo said in a statement that staff were handling a shipment of eels, when the container broke, causing them to fall off the conveyor belt and onto the tarmac.
The cargo company said the eels were safely collected and placed back into the cool box and they had contacted the customer regarding the shipment.
Vancouver International Airport said in a statement that the eel incident did not affect airport operations.
