In a nail-biting 58th NFL championship the Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers went into overtime before a touchdown from wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. secured the win on February 12 (Australian time).
As the team celebrated the camera cut to an exuberant suite where pop superstar Taylor Swift cheered on Chiefs tight end and boyfriend Travis Kelce, alongside actress Blake Lively and rapper Ice Spice.
It came after a nostalgic, high-energy show from Usher for the Super Bowl LVIII halftime performance.
The eight-time Grammy winner and R&B icon crammed his biggest hits into the 13-minute spectacle which saw him topless, rollerblading and joined on stage by some of the 2000s' biggest names.
Alicia Keys made an appearance for a My Boo duet, H.E.R. shredded the guitar during an Usher outfit change, before Lil Jon lifted the energy with Turn Down for What and joined Ludacris for the big finale Yeah!
Earlier Taylor Swift arrived at the Super Bowl in time to cheer on Kelce after jetting in from Tokyo, Japan.
Swift wasn't the only high-profile musician spotted at the game with Jay-Z and Beyonce, Post Malone, Gwen Stefani and Lady Gaga among those in the Las Vegas crowd.
Meanwhile lining up for the 49ers was Australian punter Mitch Wishnowsky who grew up in Perth and worked as a glazier before he joined the NFL.
With the 49ers loss, he missed out on becoming the first Aussie to play in a winning Super Bowl game.

The celeb cameos in Super Bowl 2024 ads
The Super Bowl ads are lucrative for brands but cost a pretty penny, forking out $7 million on average for a 30-second slot in 2024, according to Statista.
To make it worth the hefty price tag brands often rely on star power to help make their ad stand out.
Throughout the 2024 broadcast viewers can expect to see celebrity cameos from the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Lionel Messi, Christopher Walken, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ice Spice.
Why is Taylor Swift there?
Taylor Swift has been a part of Super Bowl discussions since she started dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in 2023.
The pop superstar has cheered on her football boyfriend at a string of games this season, drawing the ire of some NFL fans but boosting female viewership.
Swift performed her fourth Eras Tour concert in Tokyo on February 10, but the 17-hour time difference meant she arrived in Las Vegas in time for kick-off despite a 12-hour flight.
Widespread speculation in the lead up led Japan's Embassy in Washington DC to reassure fans there would be no issues in a post to X.
"The Embassy can confidently Speak Now to say that if she departs Tokyo in the evening after her concert, she should comfortably arrive in Las Vegas before the Super Bowl begins," the post said.
How to watch the Super Bowl in Australia
Australians can watch the Super Bowl live on Channel 7 and 7Plus or streaming service Kayo from 10am AEDT on February 12.
The game kicks off at 10.30am for NSW, ACT and Victoria, 9am in Queensland, 9.30am in South Australia and the Northern Territory, and 6am for Western Australian viewers.
