A 50-year-old man and 37-year-old man are alleged to have stolen more than $2 million in cash, jewellery, designer clothes and handbags from homes in Melbourne's south-east between May 2022 and July 2023.
Officers arrested both men on July 12 after they allegedly broke into a Sandringham home and stole a safe, jewels and other valuables.
A shipping container with 80 kilograms of allegedly stolen cash, jewels and designer clothes was seized just before it was scheduled to leave Melbourne docks at 3pm on July 14.
Police allege the burglaries in Balwyn, Kew, Moorabbin, South Yarra, Sandringham and Toorak are the work of an organised crime syndicate.
