The pilot, a man in his 70s, crashed in bushland near Warnervale Airport on the NSW Central Coast at 11am on Monday morning.
Two nearby off-duty paramedics quickly assisted the man before multiple NSW Ambulance road crews arrived to treat the man for minor hand injuries.
"The pilot has been incredibly lucky to walk away from this crash with minor injuries. When we arrived, the aircraft had crashed into trees, landing on its roof," NSW Ambulance inspector Andrew Craig said.
"Our paramedics know that incidents involving aircraft can be extremely serious and it's a relief that the man involved today was not badly injured."
After initial treatment, the man was transported to the John Hunter Hospital for further observation.
Meanwhile, the small Cessna plane was seen flipped on its back surrounded by trees in photos taken by NSW Ambulance.
