The driver was taken to hospital after the vehicle collided with the side bank on Hamilton Road about 7.30am.
Sergeant Alex Gettens, of Hamilton police, said the man in his 60s from Casterton was travelling up hill on the Hamilton Road when he appeared to lose control through the S-bends.
The vehicle collided with the side bank, landing on its roof, Sergeant Gettens said.
"The male occupant in his 60s was able to extricate himself from the vehicle," Sergeant Gettens said.
"The ambulance arrived and checked him on scene.
"He seemed to be OK but he was taken to hospital, pending further checks."
Coleraine Country Fire Authority members were also called to the accident.
