South-west detectives are investigating the theft of $365,000 of sheep stolen from numerous properties across the region.

Detective Senior Constable Derek Verity, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said detectives received reports of up to 500 sheep stolen from the Chatsworth-Bolac Road on December 17.
He said it was a large quantity of sheep worth $115,000.
The detective called for any witnesses of suspicious behaviour or vehicles around the Chatsworth area this month to contact police.
Hamilton police are investigating the theft and are joined by officers from the Ararat and Bacchus Marsh police service areas in investigating the large-scale thefts including:
- 339 sheep from a property in Cavendish believed to have been stolen sometime between October 18 and November 11.
- 450 sheep from a property in Lake Bolac believed to have been stolen sometime between October 25 and 17 December 17.
- 240 sheep from a property in Clunes believed to have been stolen sometime between November 17 and 9 December 9.
- 100 sheep from a property in Coleraine believed to have been stolen sometime between December 5 and December 20.
Police believe a truck or multiple trips with a small trailer may have been used.
