There were just as many looks of concern as there were amusement as bystanders gathered to watch a fire extinguisher-wielding man launch paint across not only a city landmark but its director, too.

South-west artist Ash Keating began work on his latest 'action' creation at 5am on Tuesday morning and had moved on from Warrnambool Art Gallery's facade by about 10.30.
His unusual tools of the trade - hundreds of fire extinguishers filled with paint - dispersed the medium in different ways, creating harder or softer tones and various patterns.
Warrnambool Art Gallery director Vanessa Gerrans assured residents the project had been given the green light and was part of the 10-day Wallawar (Peek Whurrong language for 'glow') festival.
"It's called 'Sunset Response' and it's based on photographs that locals have sent in of sunsets and sunrises and impossible skies of south-west Victoria," she said.
Keating is expected to complete the installation over the next five days.

The wider art festival, which includes a packed schedule comprising other exhibitions, performances, workshops, a children's market and gala events will finish with music and a 'Golden Dance Party' on the Civic Green on Sunday, December 5.
Ms Gerrans said the event would also be used to engage with the community and hear their views on the future of the WAG.
"There will be drop-in sessions and workshops with the project consultants SMA Tourism," she said.
