Source of new Glenelg Shire COVID-19 case under investigation

It brings active cases in the south-west to eight:

No new local exposure sites were listed overnight.

It comes as COVID-19 fragments were detected in wastewater in Hamilton.

The unexpected detection is for the period between November 7 to 11.

The virus was also detected in wastewater in the following areas:

The detections could be an undiscovered new case or cases or could be the result of one or more people in these areas who have recovered from COVID-19 but are still shedding the virus.

Anyone who lives in, works in or has visited the areas above is urged to watch for the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms and get tested as soon as possible if symptoms develop.

Workplace vaccination deadlines

From today, all employees and contractors working on Victorian construction sites must be fully vaccinated with two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine to be eligible to continue working on site.

The second-dose deadline is also approaching for workers in Victoria's residential aged-care facilities, who must be fully vaccinated by Monday 15 November.

Exceptions apply to workers with a medical exemption.
