It was a wet and wild day for Merrivale Primary School children as they ran through obstacle courses and super soakers, all-the-while raising important funds for kids' mental health.

The school's colour run at Merrivale Recreation Reserve marked its final fundraising event for Big Life, a charity aimed at improving the mental health of young children.
Grade six teacher Nicole Cuzens said the school had surpassed all fundraising goals.
"The day is called 'A Big Walk for a Big Life', she said.
"The program relies on generosity from our schools to let them continue the great work they do to pay for programs.
"We've encouraged online donations - the goal was $1000 for each school and we're already sitting at over $6000 which is great.
"Those who can't donate online will bring donations on the day - we're doing a walk-a-thon around the oval in the morning and finishing with the colour run at the end of the day to also celebrate being back at the school."
Big Life executive officer Shane Wilson said a total of six schools had been running fundraisers.
They included Grassmere Primary School, Koroit and District Primary School, Woodford Primary School, Warrnambool West Primary School and Woolsthorpe Primary School.
"The six schools have had their walks today but couldn't be together because of COVID but we've raised over $12,000 in our community and that goes towards delivering our Big Life teachers into the schools," he said.
"Big Life's been around for seven years and started with Warrnambool College and Brauer College and the whole premise is to make sure our kids have the mental health toolkits to deal with the challenges of life these days," he said.
"Too many kids were falling through the cracks and kids were suffering from poor mental health."
