WARRNAMBOOL'S Marc Leishman stormed home in the final round of the Shriners Children's Open on Monday to claim his first top-three finish of the new PGA Tour season.

The 37-year-old fired an eight-under round of 63 at La Vegas' TPC Summerlin Golf Club to finish tied for third at 19-under.
Leishman shared third with South African-Slovak Rory Sabbatini and American Adam Schenk. Im Sung-jae won the tournament, finishing at 24-under.
Schenk only managed a one-under round of 70 on the final day after shooting 64, 65 and 66 on the previous three.
From his two starts in the 2022 PGA Tour season Leishman has an equal fifth at the Fortinet Championship and equal third.

He has finished at 15 and 19-under for his last two tournaments. The two top-five finishes have seen him jump into the top 10 of the FedEX Cup rankings.
The equal third was the Warrnambool Golf Club export's highest finish in seven tournament starts.
His last appearance in the top three of a PGA Tour event was at the Travelers Championship in June.
His 12-under there was the last time he went 10-under for a tournament until he carded his 15-under at the Fortinet Championship.
Leishman hit 11 of 14 fairways and 14 of 18 greens in regulation during his final round. He didn't miss a putt that was within 10 feet of the hole.
The Australian set up his strong final round on his first nine holes, banking five birdies on the par-4 second, par-4 third, par-3 fifth, par-4 seventh and par-5 ninth.
He added four more birdies on his way back to the clubhouse on the par-4 11th, par-5 13th, par-3 14th and the par-4 18th.
The father-of-three only had one slip up for the round when he bogeyed the par-5 16th. Across his other three rounds he fired two 67s and a 68 to enter the final day tied for for 15th at 11-under.
Leishman told AAP he "did everything pretty well" during his final round.
"Hit my irons really well. Made the pitches. Yeah, drove it well. So you have to do everything pretty well when you shoot a number like that. To do it on a Sunday makes you feel pretty good," he said.
"It's good just to be playing well, feeling good over the ball, seeing the putts go in.
"It's been awhile since that's happened and for it to happen at Napa and then here again it's a good feeling. Hopefully I can continue on next week and for the rest of the season."
Cam Davis and Matt Jones were the next best Australians in the field, finishing the tournament tied for 27th at 12-under.
Countrymen Adam Scott was one shot behind the pair in a tie for 35th.
