The Killarney captain has admitted he is a Purnim fan during Grassmere Cricket Association's round 13.
If the Bulls beat Panmure Pups and Killarney overcomes Wangoom, the Crabs will snatch fourth spot from the Pups.
Also, an outright win to Cole's side coupled with a Purnim victory would see Killarney virtually secure a finals spot.
"An outright is certainly what we're after," Cole said.
It also seems likely after the Crabs had the Goomers 2-34 at stumps after declaring at 6-279 on Saturday.
"We just wanted to make as many runs as we could," Cole said.
"We got off to a pretty good start . . . then we just kept our run rate pretty steady at three or four runs an over for most of the day.
"We just pushed along with it."
Opener Brendan Chatfield (49) was prominent while No. 3 Liam Cole kept up his consistency by racking up 77 runs.
His brother was also handy, with the skipper (35) and Wayne Dennett (60no) putting on 84 runs for the sixth wicket.
It was particularly impressive seeing as Dennett ? who has been battling a shoulder injury ? is playing just his third match of the season.
"I wasn't going to declare but then I thought that 280 was enough," Cole said.
"We wanted to get a couple of wickets and we did that, which was good because they could've just came out and blocked."
Killarney was coming off the bye and a fortnight without training due to poor weather.
"I was a bit worried but a few of us had a hit on Saturday morning," Cole said.
"After that I thought we could get the job done whether it be bowling or batting."
Pat Meade was the pick of Wangoom's bowlers, collecting 3-75 from 11 overs.
The Pups - who meet Killarney in the final home-and-away round in a fortnight are chasing Purnim's 211.
Chris Smith top-scored with 49 for the Bulls while Leon Beks (43), Shaun Griffin (32) and Kade Hancock (26) were also handy.
Beks and Griffin put on 56 runs for the third wicket while Smith and Hancock managed 58 for the fifth. Chris Bant finished with a three-wicket haul for Panmure.
Mailors Flat was dismal against Yambuk.
It batted two men short to be all out for 45.
Daniel Oakley grabbed 4-13 for the ladder-leader, which was 4-168 at stumps.
Kym Eagleson knocked 60 while Rodney Roberts made 65. The duo put on 114 runs for the second wicket.
Both were dismissed thanks to James Reid who finished the day with 3-35.
In the B grade, Yambuk seems to have the edge over Mailors Flat, which was all out for 148.
John Robinson was the shining light, hitting 60 while he was supported by Ashley White (25).
The pair put on 83 runs for the sixth wicket.
Mark Bellman grabbed 6-25 from 15 overs for Yambuk while teammate Jason Barber snared 3-54 from 15 overs.
Their side is 1-43 at stumps, with opener James Sinnott sitting on an unbeaten 21.
Wangoom was more encouraging than last week as it posted a respectable 237 on Saturday.
Troy McKenzie top-scored with 62 while Scott Williams (47), Chris Rollo (40) and Corey Mahony (25) also chipped in.
Mahony and McKenzie got their side off to a desirable start after putting on 85 runs for the first wicket.
Killarney, which was served best with the ball by Damian McMahon (4-41), is 0-10 at stumps.
Hawkesdale was all out for 180 (Darren Web 70, Murray Habel 42, Ben Julius 38) against Panmure, which is 3-28 at stumps.
James North collected all three wickets from five overs while for Panmure, Steve Moore finished with 5-35.
Woolsthorpe made 99 against Purnim, with Wayne Bellman (3-7) and Greg Billington (2-13) the main wicket-takers for the Bulls.
After eight overs, their side was 2-19 at stumps, with Zappa Jenkins claiming both wickets.
The Colts grand finalists have been decided, with Panmure and Hawkesdale to play off in the season-decider.
Panmure's 9-182 was too much for Woolsthorpe, which replied on Saturday with 91 (Lachlan Miller 31, Hannah Auld 13).
Best with the ball for the winners was Riley Dalton, who grabbed 3-20 while Damien Maloney claimed 2-19.
After resuming at 4-42, Hawkesdale eclipsed Purnim's 79 at Winslow .
It finished with 8-92, with Daniel Whitehead top-scoring with 12. Sam McKinnon took 4-20 for the Bulls.
