A man has accused of murdering former Warrnambool woman Shanae Edwards has been arrested in Georgia in eastern Europe.

The 31-year-old former Brauer College student, who was allegedly murdered on a hiking track near the Georgian capital, touched the lives of all she met.
Shanae Edwards, also known as Shanae Brooke, had been teaching English in Tbilisi for about two years.
Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs described the murder in a statement as "premeditated".
The man, referred to as RM, was arrested on September 8.
"As a result of complex and multifaceted investigative activities, the circle of the supposed offenders was reduced to a minimum, whereas, as a result of genetic examination report the identity of the offender was unequivocally confirmed," the statement says.
"Based on the evidence obtained through the process of investigation, including witness testimonies, video surveillance camera recordings, genetic examination reports and other evidences - R.M. (DoB 1988) was arrested on September 8 of the current year as the accused person based on the relevant court decision.
"Investigation of the case is conducted under Article 108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, envisaging from seven to 15 years of imprisonment."
The 31-year-old was reported missing on July 30 after failing to return from a hike in Mtatsminda Park near Tbilisi.
Georgian authorities said her body was found the following day.
"As a result of several hours of intensive search and investigative activities, the officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs found the female body on the slope of Mtatsminda," the ministry said in a statement at the time.
