The midfielder, one of four South Warrnambool players in the side, gathered 35 disposals in the Rebels' 10.10 (70) to 6.10 (46) defeat to Sandringham Dragons at Ballarat's Mars Stadium on Sunday.
He believes they can respond against Eastern Ranges in Melbourne this weekend.

"It would be unreal to win the whole competition. I think that is the goal for the team at the moment," he said.
"You'd be in the history books for a while to come so it would be nice."
Herbert said the Rebels didn't capitalise when going forward against the Dragons.
"They were a pretty good side and they have a fair few top-agers and I don't think we played too well," he said.
"I just tried to help the defence out a bit because I felt like their forward line was quite strong and they had a fair few numbers," he said.
The Rebels returned after the state's most recent coronavirus lockdown.
Herbert said each time restrictions were enforced it became more difficult, conceding he was "just getting sick of it now".
"There's been so many and trying to stay motivated through them (is hard) and you have to do the work almost by yourself as well," he said.
"You miss all the good, solid training sessions with the team."
