In a NAB League game, Loader described as "a real arm-wrestle and very physical", the Rebels held off a fast-finishing Oakleigh Chargers 5.7 (37) to 4.11 (35) at Sebastopol.
"Marcus Herbert (South Warrnambool) was pretty solid and he played quite a good game," the coach said.
Loader felt the inside midfielder was the best of the Hampden region players on the day.
The coach also spoke highly of Jamieson Ballantyne's (Portland) game.
"He's an outside midfielder, so he covered the footy really well and gave us great structure around the ball, he was nice and clean in trying conditions."

Loader said the Rebels found their groove in the third term, piling on four goals.
Ball movement will continue to be the group's focus.
"Our ball movement is a big one for us, we didn't move the footy as well as other weeks, it's something we'll be looking forward to doing a bit better," he said.
The coach said there were no notable injuries to Hampden-based players on Saturday despite there being plenty of sore bodies after the clash.
