South Warrnambool's George Stevens and Hamilton Kangaroos' Vincent Huf, along with James Van Es, Felix Fogarty and Aaron Cadman, were set to travel to the Gold Coast next week to represent Vic Country in games against Western Australia and South Australia.
The AFL said it was planning to amend the fixture and play the remaining games at a later date.
Vic Country played Vic Metro in Geelong last week. Stevens, from South Warrnambool, played at half-back and collected 15 disposals.
He had nine kicks, 10 handballs and five marks.
"The challenges surrounding border closures and community lockdowns has made it difficult for the nine remaining games of the championships to proceed as planned given the interstate travel of players, coaches and officials," the AFL said in a statement.
"The AFL remains committed to playing these games and will explore all possible arrangements to ensure talent are provided with the opportunity to play representative football for their state and territory."
The AFL is waiting to see the impacts on its under-19 championships, which was due to open on July 8 with a clash between Vic Metro and the Allies.
Vic Country is not scheduled to play its first game until Saturday, August 14 against the Allies.
Josh Gibcus, Ben Hobbs, Marcus Herbert, Charlie Molan, Hamish Sinnott, Sam Butler, Sam Breuer, Jamieson Ballantyne, Kai Lohmann, Angus Bade and Josh Rentsch participated in a trial match at the weekend and will find out if they've been selected later this week.
