The 21-year-old, who is expecting her first child, will feature in her final match of the season against Terang Mortlake on Saturday.
Bombers coach Hinkley said Hammond's quality was unmistakable. She said Cobden would explore its options and give players opportunity to step up.
"My stomach did drop a bit when I thought about Amy not being available," Hinkley laughed.

"We'll need to re-jig our midcourt as she's such a huge part of our team.
"Moving forward we're just looking forward to maintaining that versatility and giving players opportunities to play together and get those combinations working.
"I think any other team, it would have a really huge impact but we're extremely lucky that we'll probably be able to cover that quite easily."
Hinkley said the Bombers were prepared to experiment in a bid to find the right combinations.
"I think on Saturday, we only had seven players available as Jess Wheadon and Jaymie Finch were unavailable and I was still unavailable with injury," she said.
"With us three coming back into the side there's lots more options and we are making sure we work through those things to ensure we have things up our sleeve.
"We don't want to waste the huge advantage we have in our depth.
"While we'd like to have a settled side, we are in a unique position to have so many quality players which means if someone is having an off-day, we've got something up our sleeve."
Cobden is the only Hampden league netball outfit undefeated after eight rounds of competition.
