The Blues finished their 11.12 (78) to 5.7 (37) victory over Timboon Demons one player down after Daniel Craven injured his quad.
Harkness also had to make five changes at selection with Nick Couch (hand), John Paulin (hamstring), Dylan Lees (concussion), Matthew Lloyd (managed) and Hugh Giblin (managed) all missing this week.
Harkness said he was pleased with how the club was travelling despite the growing list of injuries.
"Being five-and-O we have had a solid five weeks of footy and a few of the boys are stiff and sore and we're calling upon our depth, which is a good thing to have other guys come in and play roles," he said.

"It is helping us bank up wins and that is the main goal. Hopefully we can keep going and keep winning so later on when we are at the business end we want to have our best side up and going.
"The depth we have got at the club allows us to do that. We have been struggling a little to get our best side together and that makes it more pleasing to be five-and-O even with that."
Timboon Demons also suffered injuries with Jack Gaut (ankle) and Tomas Lindquist (shoulder) hurt in the defeat.
Coach Dennis Hobbs said he was unsure if the duo would miss next week's match against South Rovers.
He said Ewan Flanagan (work) and Ned Dalziel (shoulder) could return for the clash with the Lions.
"Tommy fell fairly hard on his shoulder in the second quarter. We are not sure (of the extent) yet but he was pretty sore. We will wait and see," he said.

"Jack is a solid backman and we lost him to an ankle in the third quarter so we were down to one on the bench in the last.
"We are not sure at this stage but we are hoping it is only a slight one but you never know with an ankle.
"Ewan and Ned could be next week. We are nearly full strength.
"Ned has been a couple of weeks and he took this one out so he should be back next week and Ewan comes back in as it is hard with his work and he plays when he can."
