Nirranda captain Georgia Haberfield, who joined The Standard's Main Break podcast this week, knows the Dees have improved this season.
"They've definitely recruited well, they will be a nice hit-out for us and will test us a lot which will be good," she said.
"We just need to trust our processes and structures and play the game we've been playing and I think we'll give them a good run too."
The Dees picked up 2019 Hampden league open-graders Rebecca Dendle and Alicia Blain from Cobden during the off-season.
Haberfield said the Blues look forward to Saturday's challenge against a different Demons' outfit.
"I think it's good not knowing what to expect going into it as well because then it really makes us focus on ourselves and not what they're going to throw at us," she said.
"It will definitely be good for us to have a good, hard run."
The Blues have recruited just as well and have Jo Couch, Meagan Forth, Chantelle Moloney and Sam Couch on board this season.
"It's amazing, we already know these girls so they've found their feet quite well, they know everyone so they fit in so well," Haberfield said.
"It's like they've been there for ages.
"We've hit the ground running this season and been quite strong and hard, it's really promising.
"I think having those fresh faces and quality players to strengthen our team that little bit more - it's very exciting."
Haberfield said having new players brought many benefits.
"It's so nice to have outside thoughts and ideas, it's always nice to be thrown new things and put them into play and for them (the new players) to learn the way we play and our structures," she said.
"I think this year we bring a different style of play to our game and our team.
"It's been good to execute that and find our feet with new people in the side."
The Blues' skipper explained she was playing a variety of roles this season in the new-look team.
"I've always been anywhere in the midcourt, I'm probably lucky I can play anywhere, except the defensive circle - I'm not quite tall enough for that," she said with a laugh.
"Obviously bringing in Meagan, who is a very strong wing defence as well, and Chantelle Moloney who can also play that wing defence roles just as well.
"It helps me move around the court a little bit and when (coach) Steph (Townsend) needs to have a break or Soph (Adams) needs a break - being able to throw me in the goals as well.
"Just as a mover I guess because I don't really sink the goals very well."
