Koroit's population almost doubled over the weekend as the town's annual festival brought in visitors from across the nation to celebrate all things Irish.

Koroit Irish Festival president Adele MacDonald was delighted with how the weekend turned out after careful CovidSAFE plans were put in place.
"It was the happiest of weekends," she said. "I've seen so many people singing, dancing, having fun and getting into the Irish festival.
"It's a festival for all ages, everyone get's into the spirit of it.
"We're already looking forward to organising it next year because it certainly will be bigger and better if we can beat this year.
"This year has been a cracker, it's going to be really hard to beat but we always try to do our best."
Some of the highlights across the festival weekend included a tribute to the late Frank 'Tuddy' Bowman, the new event Gathering of the Green Eyes, the competitive Spud Picking and Spud Peeling championships, the Koroit Bakehouse Australian Danny Boy Championships and Gaelic Football matches.
