Thomas, the competition squad's coach, was pleased to see the club's members do well on the weekend.
"It was really good, they were up and about and enjoyed themselves and team culture was good too which made a big difference in the results," she said.
"On Saturday we weren't having too good a weekend with not many things going our way but the spread of medals was bigger and it wasn't the same people winning all the time. It was exciting."
Mia, Finn and Conor Cook, Jane McMeel, Harry McNamara, Isaac Owen, Darcy Bridgewater, Harvey Moncrief, Todd Lamb and Thomas will compete at The Aussies from April 16 to 24 at Alexandra Headland and Mooloolaba.

Thomas said training would remain similar in the build up to the nationals.
"We might go back to longer work for this week if they have recovered, which is the most important thing, and then we will step it up a notch," she said.
"We won't change too much as people went well. Our race day processes will be the big focus."
Warrnambool Surf Lifesaving Club had a record 66 athletes compete at the state championships. The squad was the biggest at the event, beating strong Port Phillip and Surf Coast clubs.
