But it can now call itself champions of the Western District Bowls Division's top grade again after it defeated Warrnambool Gold 67-47 at Port Fairy on Tuesday.
Timboon led for most of the encounter with Arthur Finch's rink proving pivotal, defeating Brenda Hawker's 26-11. The other two rinks won 21-20 and 20-16.

Maroon stormed their way to the grand final after scrapping into fourth and then winning finals against Port Fairy Gold and reigning champions City Gold.
"It's brilliant," Finch said of the pennant victory. "I'm absolutely stoked for a little club against a good team.
"Noelene (Richards) was in our last premiership and that was 20 years ago and when you're getting older it's just brilliant.

"We played off last year in both grand finals and lost them and if we lost again it would be a sad night but we're just stoked."
Finch said a "nothing to lose" attitude helped guide Maroon to glory.
"You've got nothing to lose because you're maybe a little bit lucky to sneak in but I know we have the ability and if we all bowl OK on the day we're a chance to win," he said.
"You don't go and bowl well anyone can beat you but we all bowled well against City at Terang last week and I thought if we could come out and do that again we would have a chance of winning."

The division two pennant was taken out by City Pink, who defeated Lawn Tennis Green 65-59.
Skip Ewan Rogers, whose rink went down to Doreen Prout's, was "very elated" with Pink's victory after they finished last in 2019-20.
"We finished very low down last season and gradually grew and grew in our strength," he said.
"It's a really great crew. We aren't brilliant bowlers but a good team so it's fantastic we were able to achieve what we have and it makes it more special to be able to do that."
In the division three grand final Dennington Rays defeated Terang Red by 11 shots, winning 52-41.
Dennington manager Tony Scott said the club was thrilled with the win.
"It is quite exciting as we have had a lean season so to get a team into the grand final was good and to actually win is great," Scott said.
"These bowlers because they are in the lower division it gives them a bit of encouragement to kick on and they have been together for most of the season so there is a bit of atmosphere with the team
"But it is quite strange throughout the year one rink has been stronger than the other and come the grand final the one that has been down is the one that carried the day.
"That is what it is all about, it is a team game."
