A 32-year-old man will appear in the Warrnambool court on Friday charged with more driving offences

Chris Brown, 32, of Carpendeit, did not apply for bail in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court after being arrested about lunchtime on Thursday.

He was wanted in relation to evading police and has been charged with that offence, among seven alleged offences.

Mr Brown did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody until March 22.

Earlier: A 32-year-old serial driving offender will appear in Warrnambool court on Friday for a bail/remand hearing.

Detective Sergeant Leigh Wheatley, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said the Carpendeit man was arrested near his home about noon Thursday.

He had been wanted by police since February when it's alleged he was involved in another incident involving evading police.

He's also been charged in relation to ammunition found at the time of his arrest.

Detective Sergeant Wheatley also thanks members of the community for providing crucial information which led to the arrest of a wanted man in west Warrnambool early this week.

A 29-year-old man appeared in the Warrnambool court on Thursday and was remanded in custody charged with committing an aggravated burglary on February 9.

"We need that information from the public so we can best do our jobs. It's vital," Detective Sergeant Wheatley said.
