Timboon Maroon's Gary Duro believes his team's extra preparation is paying dividends and will be crucial to its chances of claiming victory next week.
Maroon took down the reigning premier and advanced to its second straight division one midweek pennant grand final on Tuesday.

Maroon defeated City Memorial Gold 76-53 in a Western District Bowls Division semi-final at Terang Bowling Club.
It will meet Warrnambool Gold in the decider at Port Fairy Bowls Club at 1pm on Tuesday.
Duro said getting to the green a bit earlier than usual had benefited his group.
"We came over for a roll-up three quarters of an hour beforehand which helped," he said.

"We've done it the past couple of weeks.
"Terang's green is a bit quicker and a bit wider so you've got to get your line and length right."
Teams would normally take half an hour for a roll-up but expect Timboon to be putting in an extra of 15 minutes on grand final day.
Duro, a lead, was proud of the way his group performed against City Gold.
"Everyone combined well, it was a good team effort, we won the three rinks," he said.
"They beat us in the last year's grand final so we owed them one."
He said it was good when a small club like Timboon beat a big club like City Memorial.
"For the little battler, it's good," he said.
The town is right behind its club with spectators cheering the team to victory on Tuesday.
Duro said the club might take a players/supporters bus to Port Fairy next week.
The experienced bowler said Timboon was comfortable playing at the grand final venue.
He said he and other male members of the midweek team were playing in the monthly fours tournament at Port Fairy on Thursday.
Duro said the team might also have a practice session together before the decider.
Maroon progressed to the semi-final after defeating Port Fairy Gold in an elimination final.
Warrnambool Gold made the grand final after overcoming City Gold in its first final.
Gold finished on top of the ladder while Timboon was fourth.
However, Timboon Maroon defeated Warrnambool Gold 63-53 when they met in round eight at Timboon.
Warrnambool Gold and Koroit Blue are playing for a spot in the division one weekend pennant final on Saturday.
Th victor will meet City Red at Port Fairy.
