In its 47th year, Fun Fly has grown and the club's secretary-treasurer Greg Howe said they were expecting the unexpected at this year's event.
"It's basically a get together for people who are interested in model airplanes and building them," he said.
"Last year was the first time we held a two-day event with around 70 modelers from all over Victoria turning up with the same number of planes.
"It's getting bigger and bigger and I hear a lot of accommodation in Camperdown is booked out this weekend."
The Fun Fly runs from 9am-6pm on Saturday and Sunday at the Camperdown Race Course with a gold coin donation on entry required.
Mr Howe said anyone who was interested in model airplanes should come down and discover what the club is all about.
"All models and types are welcomed and last year planes varied from the latest aerobatic ones to vintage planes," he said.
"Our club has 29 members and we're one of the few clubs who are growing.
"There will be lots of people to talk to over the weekend and lots to see."
