Coach Brooke Richardson said there had been "a different kind of energy" around her group after a year off due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"There is a different energy because I think we kind of missed it," she said.
"Until it wasn't there we didn't appreciate how much the Thursday trainings and Saturday game days meant to us.
"We took that for granted previously but getting back together and into the swing of things it's been really great to see everyone again first and foremost before netball."

"The first month has been about gently getting back into fitness and getting the girls into it (the sport) again," she said.
"Even just having summer off netball it's hard to get into court time and after a full year off we are just helping them ease into that first and foremost before committing to too much."
Richardson said the club's netball squads were preparing to be split following recent trials.
"The past two weeks we have had trials to determine squads to break out from a large squad into two smaller squads this week," she said.

The playing mentor said developing the Magpies' junior ranks was just as important this year as they push for senior spots.
"It's quite tough for the younger ones and 17 and unders because they didn't get that skill development last year," she said.
"It's important for us as a club to give every opportunity to the younger girls through training and help them with their skill development."
Richardson said she was pleased with how the younger players had responded since coming back from a year off.
