WorkSafe has laid charges over the death of former Hamilton jockey Mikaela Claridge.

The 22-year-old died while riding a section of the Cranbourne Racecourse on August 30, 2019.
The Cranbourne Turf Club has been hit with three alleged breaches of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for failing to ensure, as far as reasonably practicable, people other than employees were not exposed to risks to their health and safety.
Another three charges allege the club failed to ensure the workplace was safe and without risks to health.
WorkSafe will allege the club failed to maintain the sand trails and ensure it was safe for use, the authority said in a statement.

"WorkSafe will also allege the horse trainer, Saloon Park Pty Ltd, failed to ensure its employees did not ride the sand trails track in the dark," it said.
"Saloon Park has been charged with one count each of failing to provide a system of work that was, so far as reasonably practicable, safe and without risks to health under section 21(2)(a) of the OHS Act and failing to ensure the workplace was safe and without risks to health under section 26(1) of the Act."
The matter is expected to be heard in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on March 17.
Claridge was killed during an early morning trackwork session.
The jockey was dislodged from her horse while riding on the sand trails on the southern side of the training centre about 4.35am.
She was attended to by the on-course paramedic but was unable to be saved.
