Warrnambool Seahawks to play Ararat Redbacks in CBL semi-final

The Seahawks lost to Colac Kookas by four points at Warrnambool Stadium on Saturday night but due to their percentage and Terang Tornadoes losing they sneak into finals.

Mitchell's side will travel to Ararat next Saturday night with the hopes of making the grand final against either Portland or Colac.

The playing mentor believes his side can overcome the Redbacks despite losing to them in round three.

"We felt like we were the better team that whole game but we had that inability to put the ball in the hole and that let us down in the end," he said.

"The boys are full of confidence and we have got nothing to lose. We are going in against an undefeated team while we snuck into finals in fourth and have no pressure on us.

"We can just go up there and throw everything at the wall. The way we've been progressing, even though it hasn't been in wins yet, we're building towards something.

"A big week on the track and hopefully we can put it all together."

Mitchell was pleased with his side's performance on Saturday after it posted its second 80-plus score of the season.

He also gave praise to Matt Rea, Benson Steere and Liam Killey for their performances.
