Lead singer and accomplished songwriter Will Wagner said the band was looking forward to returning to the stage and the south-west.
"With border restrictions changing we decided to add extra Victorian shows rather than interstate," he said.
"We've played in Warrnambool a few times, at The Loft and The Whalers, two venues over the road from Lighthouse Theatre, and we've always had good crowds there.
"So it was an easy choice once we knew the venue was available. Plus we'll take any chance to see a whale if we can."
The February 27 show is the second tour date for The Smith Street Band's return to live music and the band has worked tirelessly over lockdown to re-write a set of songs to suit a seated COVID-safe performance.
The tour coincides with the release of Unplugged in Wombat State Forest which brings fans 10 reworked and recorded tracks live at the band's Bush House Studio.
Tickets are now on sale for The Smith Street band - Unplugged in Warrnambool via the Lighthouse Theatre's website.
