The Brierly Christ-Church all-rounder had a season off to concentrate on swimming before being tempted to pad up again.
That decision is paying off with Worrall picked to represent Warrnambool and District Cricket Association's under 16 side at in the Western Victoria Girls Shield.
The country week tournament, which will also include an under 18 section, is in Hamilton from January 11-13. Worrall, who turns 15 in January, said she'd embraced her cricket return, playing in the WDCA's under 17 girls competition on Wednesdays and filling in for the Bulls' under 15 boys' outfit on Fridays.
Then there's training on Sundays. In between all that is up to five swimming sessions a week.
"I was asked to go back to Brierly and I had been thinking about it so I thought I'd get back into it," she said of her comeback.
"I am pretty committed to swimming so I did go back to that but I did miss cricket."
Worrall's first foray into cricket came when she was at St Joseph's Primary School.
The now Emmanuel College student played for St Joey's at School Sport Victoria level.
"In year five we went to the MCG for states and we came third or fourth and then the next year we did it again," she said.
"I was lucky enough to trial for Western Waves and fortunate enough to make that team. And then I got into Brierly."
Worrall is opening the batting, with a top score of 25 retired, for Brierly in 2020-21.
The team sits third on the 10-team ladder.
"I am a bit of an all-rounder but I feel like I am doing pretty well with my batting at the moment," she said.
But she is looking for ways to improve.
"(My focus is on) getting powerful and to know where the gaps are in the fielding and trying to get those quick singles," Worrall said.
Worrall, who works at Subway after school, comes from a sporting family.
Her brothers are cycling Darcy and Eddie and her pop Hugh played VFL for Fitzroy and is a three-time Maskell Medal winner in the Hampden league.
