TIME constraints have stopped the public and Warrnambool Racing Club members from attending the popular Jericho Cup to be run this Sunday.

Only participating owners and invited sponsors will be allowed to the meeting to be run at Warrnambool.
The feature race on the eight-race program is the $300,000 Jericho Cup to be run through the paddocks on the flat over 4600 metres.

WRC CEO Tom O'Connor told The Standard it was very disappointing the public and members were not allowed.
"Jericho Cup day is one of our most popular race dates," O'Connor said.
"Racing Victoria and the government are still working out the final details about how many patrons can go to meetings after the announcements on Sunday.
"The club is disappointed however time has beaten us on this occasion.
"The finer details on the framework are still being settled and it is not feasible for the club to be able to accommodate a crowd safely."
O'Connor said the club was implementing the "Road to the Jericho - Charge to your local".
The initiative encourages local Warrnambool residents and visitors to watch the 2020 Jericho Cup from the comforts of their local pub.
The club will focus its attention on the summer racing program after Sunday's meeting.
More details regarding crowd numbers for meetings including the Woodford, Koroit and Port Fairy Cups should be known within weeks.
