It also wants to remove any barriers for participation, grow engagement - in particular for female and junior golfers - and ensure appropriate benefits are delivered to its members.
Scott said the membership change, which is the first initiative the club will look to implement at the beginning of 2021, is aimed at assisting both the club and its members.
"From a club point of view it will assist us immensely with financial planning and also assist us by not starting in peak time but starting at the start of spring and leading up to summer," she said.
"We're also trying to encourage members to renew in the lead up to the summer period.
"It also coincides with the end of the winter sports and encourages those who might normally renew memberships going into summer when those are coming to an end, golf is starting, the weather is nicer and people are getting out and about."
Scott said it was a fantastic moment for the club to record 1000 members again. Warrnambool resident Jason Rudolph was the 1000th member.
