PORT Fairy is remaining tight-lipped over its maiden division one side under new coach Brian Medew but hopes to lay the foundations for long-term success.

The Pirates will battle West Warrnambool at Avery's Paddock on Saturday.
New skipper Alex Jennings headlines the Pirates' list of recruits, while vice-captain Sam Wilson has also linked up with the club.
"The players (we've recruited) have been hand-picked and were targeted," he said.
"We're trying to build something special and generate some change and buzz right through the club."
Sri Lankan national Jason Perera will again take the field, while former captains George Macdonald and Aaron Williams are also named to face the Panthers.
Youngster Max Green will resume wicketkeeping duties.
Meanwhile, first-year Wesley-CBC skipper Ben Dobson expected early wins to be vital while cricket was played through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dobson's Beavers will play off against Woodford at Bushfield oval on Saturday.
"It's a little bit of an unknown what the season will look like," he said.
"I think it'll be pretty important to get early wins."
Dobson flagged continued opportunities for Wesley-CBC's youth and praised the mix of young and old.
Several youngsters - including Nick Blacker, Blake Rouse and Walker Owen - emerged this past season.
