The emerging ruck finished in fourth spot with 120 votes. Midfielder Jack Steele (207) won his maiden Trevor Barker Award ahead of dynamic small forward Dan Butler (126).
Marshall, 24, played 19 of a possible 20 games this year averaging 14.1 disposals, 2.7 clearances, 4.3 marks, 3.8 score involvements and 14.6 hit outs.

He was also handy up forward for the Saints, kicking 13 goals.
The big Saint was one of a number of young players to poll well in the club's best and fairest.
Steele, Butler (second), Dougal Howard (third), Callum Wilkie (seventh) are all 24.
Nick Coffield, who was named Best Emerging Player Award and finished fifth, and Hunter Clark (ninth) are 20 and 21 respectively.
Zak Jones (sixth), Paddy Ryder (eighth) and Sebastian Ross (10th) are the other players to finish in the top-10.
The Saints' season concluded on Friday night when they were defeated by reigning premiers Richmond in the second semi-final.
