Walsh, 20, was one of the Blues' three nominees, alongside recruit Jack Martin and star defender Jacob Weitering, for the AFL Players' Association MVP Award.
Merrett, 24, was nominated alongside Andrew McGrath and Jordan Ridley.
The nomination for the MVP Award is a two-stage process.
The first involves players nominating three teammates, before three nominees from every club are presented to the wider playing group for a vote to decide the winner.
Players cannot vote for their own teammates in stage two of the process.

Walsh has continued his impressive form from his debut season and stepping up as one of the Blues' leaders in 2020.
The midfielder has played 16 games, averaging 19.9 disposals, 3.9 score involvements, 2.4 clearances a game and has kicked eight goals.
It will be the second year in succession the former number one draft pick has played every single game.
The 2019 Rising Star Winner will conclude his season with the twelfth-placed Blues on Saturday night when they tackle the second-placed Brisbane Lions at the Gabba.
Merrett has played 15 games this season averaging 26.3 disposals, 424.7 metres gained, 3.5 clearances and three tackles a game.
