Last Friday, on the directive of Victoria's Chief Health Officer Professor Brett Sutton, the state government ruled out full-contact training and competition for athletes 19 years and over.
AFLWD commercial and operations manager Matt Ross said in a statement the decision was made in light of the removal of guidance for full-contact training and competition.
The postponed will be be revisited when AFLWD has more certainty around when there might be an opportunity for players to train and compete with contact.
The WVFFL's junior competition, which had it's fixture released this week, will still go ahead on August 1.
"We will constantly monitor the evolving nature of COVID-19 in our region as well as ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations as we continue planning for the resumption of our junior girls competition," Ross said in the statement.
