SOUTH Warrnambool's strong numbers will enable it to field two teams in the Western Victoria Female Football League in 2020 - if the season goes ahead.

The Friendly Societies' Park-based club was to feature South Red and South White when the season kicked off on August 1 but the state government postponed contact training and matches for those over 19 on Friday following a spike in COVID-19 cases.
The restrictions will impact a potential senior season.
The under 18 competition can still proceed as planned.
AFL Western District senior operations manager Mike Farrow, who is working on the fixture, spoke to The Standard before the announcement and said six teams were expected to compete in the women's season.
Portland, Horsham Demons, Hamilton Kangaroos and Ararat Storm had also entered teams.
Farrow said Warrnambool and Old Collegians, who had planned to enter women's sides for the first time, would wait until 2021 to debut. The two clubs had appointed coaches - Clare Tilley (Blues) and Jake Main (Warriors).
"I am pretty confident they will have a team next year," he said.
The under 18 female football competition is to include 10 teams - Old Collegians, reigning premier South Warrnambool, Warrnambool, Portland, Terang Mortlake, Timboon Demons, 2019 grand finalist Horsham Demons, Ararat Storm, Hamilton Kangaroos and Stawell.
