FRESH from training a winner at Warrnambool on Wednesday, local trainer Peter Chow is optimistic about the chances of his promising filly Paul's Regret winning at Caulfield on Saturday.

Hostar won a $36,000 restricted race at Chow's home track on Wednesday and Paul's Regret lines up in a $100,000 three-year-old fillies race over 1200 metres in town on Saturday.
"She's a very handy filly but I'm just a bit worried she may be a shade underdone," he said.
"Her first up performance to run second at Caulfield was full of merit.

"Paul's Regret had a track gallop at Camperdown a fortnight ago and went well. I wanted to give her a gallop last week but there was no track open.
"She's got an awkward barrier draw on Saturday which is a bit of a worry.
"(Jockey) Michael Poy is riding in good form I'm confident he'll have Paul's Regret in a good spot in the run."
Paul's Regret, who has won one of her five starts, is rated a $7 chance in the early betting markets.

The race will jump at 2.15pm, with the first at 11.45am.
Ciaron Maher, who trained his fifth Warrnambool Grand Annual Steeplechase winner when Ablaze took out the time honoured race on Tuesday has numerous runners at Caulfield.
Maher, who trains in partnership with David Eustace also has Kooweerup in the listed Adelaide Guineas at Morphettville.
