Emma Kearney scores fourth consecutive All-Australian selection

And Hamilton export Emma Kearney can call herself one of those after scoring her fourth consecutive blazer on Monday night.

The North Melbourne skipper, who was named as the side's vice-captain, joins Melbourne's and 2020 All-Australian captain Karen Paxman as the only players to be picked in the prestigious side in every season.

Kearney, played seven games before the 2020 season was called off after the Kangaroos' semi-final victory over Collingwood due to the coronavirus pandemic, was named in the centre.

The 30-year-old was selected alongside two teammates including Ash Riddell and 2020 club best and fairest winner Jas Garner.

"It is an incredible privilege for me to be named vice-captain of such a great side," Kearney told The Australian of her selection as a leader in the side.

The 2018 AFLW best and fairest, who averaged 21 disposals this season, contributed the four selections to her desire to stay at the top of her game.

"I really pride myself on my performance and my consistency," she said.

"It is something I have tried to do throughout my whole four seasons. If I can play my best football, it will help the team.

"I probably lead differently to others. I am quite shy and naturally a quiet person and it is probably more about my actions than words when I lead on the field."
