Maher, who trains in partnership with David Eustace, had winners at Caulfield, Warracknabeal and Morphettville while their major success was with new recruit Etah James.
With champion jockey Glen Boss in the saddle Etah James won the group 1 $1.15 million Sydney Cup and Away Game won the $600,000 Percy Sykes Stakes at Randwick.
Bam's On Fire won at Caulfield for the powerful training combination. Black And Tan saluted at Warracknabeal and Grandslam scored an impressive victory at his second race start for the stable at Morphettville.
The Winslow-raised Maher told The Standard the victories were a great result for the hard working staff at his stables.
"It's great to get winners for owners in any races but to win a group one with Etah James is very special," he said.
"The group ones are the wins you cherish. We've been lucky over the years to have had a few group ones but each one is special.
"We've only had Etah James in the stable for a few weeks so a lot of the credit has to go to Matt Cumani. Etah James was down in the weights and was perfectly ridden by Bossy.
"He's a master rider in the big group ones. The winners are a great result for our staff who put in a lot of time and effort ensuring our horses are in top condition for their respective races.
"Away Game has won four of her seven starts. She's a top class filly."

Maher was excited with the win of Grandslam at his second race start predicting the two-year-old is a promising type.
"Grandslam is a full brother to our Caulfield Cup winner Jameka," he said.
"Grandslam shows a lot of promise. For him to win a race at his second start over 1250 metres is a bonus.
"We will not see the best of Grandslam until he gets into races over more ground.
"Jameka was a top class galloper if Grandslam measures up to her ability we're going to have a lot of fun with him."
Grandslam picked up $26,000 in prizemoney for his Morphettville victory.
