The South West Victorian Football Association is not planning to get under way in April, according to secretary Ollie Hodson.

The SWVFA has been in limbo since March 17 when Football Federation Australia (FFA) announced all grassroots activities at soccer clubs across the country were suspended until April 14 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Hodson said there had been no official update to that suspension date which is only a fortnight away.

The association secretary said he understood the delay on a revised date and wasn't frustrated with the governing bodies.
"It's just the awkwardness of the time," he said.
"Football Victoria (FV) has been very good with its communication, it's hard at this time to make firm plans."

FV acknowledged in a statement on Tuesday the suspension period was most likely to be extended.
"Football Victoria anticipates that the onset of stage three government restrictions is likely to restrict non-essential services, including football activity, beyond the suspension period initially imposed by the sport (14 April)," the statement read.
"This is currently being considered by FFA and member federations with the view of extending the suspension of football activity beyond the current suspension period."

Victorian premier Daniel Andrews announced on Monday stage three restrictions including "restricting gatherings to no more than two people except for members of your immediate household and for work or education".
The stage three restrictions are to be reviewed in four weeks.
Individuals face on-the-spot fines of $1,652 and businesses $9,913, for breaching those restrictions.

While the SWVFA waits on an update from FFA, its board will meet on Wednesday April 8.
"That meeting will discuss the possibility of a shortened season or off-season tournaments if the restrictions continue into September/ October," Hodson said.
The association secretary added the SWVFA would be "looking to communicate to our members as much as we can about contingencies".
Hodson said the association was fortunate it hadn't taken registrations prior to the season start date being suspended.
Team entries were originally due in April.
