Sobey joined Ipswich Force for its upcoming NBL1 North - a semi professional basketball league in Queensland - season.
"I am super excited to join the Ipswich Force and have the opportunity to build basketball in the local area," the Brisbane Bullets star said.
Sobey is a two-time All-NBL Second Team member (2017, 2019) and was named the league's Most Improved player in 2017.

The 29-year-old is coming off his first season with the Bullets, where he averaged 16.5 points per game as the side finished in sixth.
The Warrnambool Seahawks championship winner also represented Australia at last year's FIBA World Cup, where the Boomers finished fourth.
Sobey joins Kyle Harvey, Jason Ralph, Ryan Jeffries and Mitch Poulain as confirmed players on the Force's 2020 men's roster.
