The Bulls, who are hunting back-to-back division one titles, suffered a nine-wicket defeat to the recently crowned Sungold Cup champions last Saturday.
Captain Grant Place was glad his side had been given the pre-finals wake up call.
"It beats meeting them in the semi-final or grand final and losing," the number three batsman said.
"Any team is capable of playing poorly at any stage of the season and hopefully that is the bottom of the run for us and we are only going up for the rest of the season."

Last weekend's total of 74, which saw no Bull make more than 16, was their lowest since their opening round score of 90 against Cobden.
"It wasn't great batting by us last week and taking nothing away from them (Mortlake), they played pretty well and bowled extremely good lines for long periods," Place said of last weekend's batting performance.
"At the start we couldn't build partnerships and there were some unlucky dismissals but they bowled well and we just fell in a hole that we couldn't get out of. Sometimes that can happen in one-day cricket."
Tom Place, the Bulls' most consistent bat, returns to face Camperdown this week after missing the Cats clash. He has scored 147 runs at an average of 36.8 from his six matches.
