Thomas is currently 7th overall in the junior boys while Peter is third overall in the senior mens.
Thomas, who is competing against 12 others, got a personal best in tricks earlier this week with a score of 1650.
He also achieved 8.40 in slalom and 12.4 metres in jump.
His slalom score was hampered by a fall in the first round.
"Hopefully he'll improve a bit on that in the second round (finals)," Peter said.
Thomas has his sights set on making the Australian team for the World Barefoot Waterski Championships.
The team will be announced this week.
