KATHRYN Ross' focus was just on ticking all the boxes that would gain her selection for the Australian World Cup team.

But what the Canberra-based rower didn't expect was that she would end up breaking the Women's PR2 world record on the Concept2 ergo machine.
The indoor test forms part of the selection process for the Australian Rowing Team that will head to Switzerland for the Rowing World Cup in April and May.
The 38-year-old is now waiting for her record time of eight minutes and three seconds to be verified by Concept2.
"It's nice and a bit of an exciting moment to tick the boxes and break a record on the rowing machine," Ross said of her achievement.
"It's a tough bit of machinery and it can break you pretty hard but it's very exciting to have that under my belt, when and if it comes through."
Ross previously broke the record with a time of seven minutes and 57.3 seconds but decided not to send it for verification.

The Tokyo Olympics hopeful is back training on water after the recent Australian bushfire crisis and resulting bad air quality caused significant interruptions to her preparations.
"At the moment we are still got a little to go only due to fires and smoke being so horrendous here and was very unfortunate for us to be unable to train for some time on water and sometimes indoor," she said.
"Due to work I have also been limited and got a couple of sessions in Sydney at the Mosman Rowing Club supported us coming up.
"It was glorious to be up there and then being able to get back on the water in Canberra last week was helpful too. We are Fighting to be back on track."
Ross said the focus was getting race fit in time for the state championships and more national selection events.
"At the moment we are now into our racing season and its about getting up to speed as quickly as possible," she said.
"Normally we would have done some foundation work through the Christmas period but unfortunately with the weather we have had to fast track it and mainly focus on getting ready to race over next couple of weeks."
