The south-west's strong Celtic music culture will be in the spotlight at this year's Port Fairy Folk Festival.

The Folkie has joined with many other folk festivals across Australia to celebrate the 2020 Year of Scotland theme.
Visiting Scottish music acts to Port Fairy will include Claymore, Fara, The Jellyman's Daughter and the Paul McKenna Band.
The festival has also tapped into local talent, with the Warrnambool and District Pipes and Drums group to play a leading role in the Scottish celebrations.
Port Fairy Folk Festival program director Caroline Moore said the Scottish theme would bring with it plenty of surprises.
"The Warrnambool and District Pipes and Drums group will be doing what they usually do at the festival, leading the parade," Ms Moore said.
"But they will also be popping up at different times across the weekend, which we think will have a really big impact.
"It's wonderful to have such talented performers in our area that can deliver high quality Scottish music."
Ms Moore said the strong Celtic heritage of the south-west made the Port Fairy Folk Festival's involvement in the 2020 year of Scotland an easy one.
"There are a lot of people with Scottish heritage in this area," she said.
"My father was Scottish so I love hearing bagpipes play, it's a beautiful sound."
The Port Fairy Folk Festival is on March 6-9.
