A SOUTH-WEST driver will carry a purple patch of form into the remainder of his formula 500 campaign after a strong Speedweek.

Bell accrued 550 Speedweek points, placing him second behind Queenslander Kaydon Iverson.
Bell, from Allansford, was the best-placed south-west drivers after the five-round week which included meetings at Simpson, Mount Gambier, Hamilton, Laang and Portland.
The fourth scheduled race night, at Darlington, was called off due to extreme weather. Purnim driver Dion Bellman clocked 537 points, finishing fifth overall, while Allansford's Leigh Van Ginneken capped a solid week with a 19th-place finish.

Dylan Willsher finished 25th, pulling in 356 points, while Danny Carroll (278), Tim Rankin (211) and Chris Bellman (176) were 35th, 39th and 42nd overall.
Bell climbed to equal second from a fourth-place berth in the fifth round.
The former Brauer College student collected two second-place finishes but was unable to secure an elusive win.
