Toni said the family would look to take on all three events of the series.
"We'll try and get a little bit quicker each time if we can, depending on the conditions on the day," she said.
"(I'm) just always trying to keep up with my son, he's just started to get faster than me now so I'll be trying to catch him."
Richard said it was a great series for families and those who were new to running.
"It's a good family event, something for all ages and it's a relativity straight-forward course," he said.
The WAC member said it was an ideal event for tourists to get involved with.
"We generally get a number of tourists down but it would always be good to have more," he said.
"You've got both of the caravan parks right next to where we are running basically."
Toni said it was scenic running track.
"You can stroll along, you don't have to run, and you can look out at the ocean while you're walking along and having a chat with friends," she said.
Richard added it was well worth staying around after completing the course.
"Hang around here at Flagstaff Hill afterwards and have a sausage and listen to a bit of music," he said.
"It's a nice way to spend an hour or two of an evening."
The running series ties in with Flagstaff Hill's 'Chill on the Hill' music program to be held from 5.30-8.30pm on Wednesdays in January.
The Bucks Trio will play on the 8th, Louie and Daz Duo on the 15th and Gablou Duo on the 22nd.
