The Enchanted Circus is the newest ride at the Warrnambool Family Carnival this year and took two semi trailers to transport to Warrnambool.
Operator Trent Woodall, a fifth generation member of the family that owns the carnival, said inside the 14-metre-high structure was an obstacle course with moving floors and turning barrels.
"We haven't improved much on the name, but the ride is a big improvement," Mr Woodall said.
The circus is among 14 rides at the show this year, including thrillers the Slingshot and Hangover, as well as dozens of side shows and food vendors.
"It's the oldest form of entertainment," Mr Woodall said of the carnival. "It's the one moment you can be a kid again, or if you are a kid see it for the first time, the colour and the noise, too much sugar. That never gets old."
Trent's step father Emile Verfurth has been bringing his rides to the carnival for 37 years and said visiting Warrnambool was a highlight for the family, which travels as far as Cairns each year.
"We are always made to feel welcome here," he said.
Mr Verfurth recalls when dodgem cars, a horse-o-plane and a merry go round were the main attractions.
"We've changed a lot with our equipment," he said.
